Timothy Chan, Senior Manager, Customer Success at SWAT Mobility, recently received prestigious honours from the Ministry of Transport for his outstanding contributions to Singapore's COVID-19 operations. He was awarded the President's Certificate of Commendation (PCC) Team Member and the COVID-19 Resilience Medal (CRM). These awards recognise individuals and organisations significantly impacting Singapore's fight against COVID-19.
In the tumultuous year of 2020, when Timothy was still an employee of a transport service company, Woodlands Transport Service (WTS), he found himself at the epicentre of chaos within the transportation industry while serving at WTS' Airport Business Unit. Government restrictions and pandemic-induced disruptions threw the industry into disarray. Tasked with the formidable challenge of Stay-Home Notice (SHN) transportation planning and implementation, and facilitating the daily commute for over 1,000 airport staff, Timothy embarked on a mission to find an agile, adaptable solution that could keep pace with ever-changing regulations.
Recognising the need for cutting-edge technology to navigate this complex maze, Timothy evaluated potential solution providers and ultimately partnered with SWAT Mobility. The decision was grounded in SWAT Mobility's ability to adapt and meet intricate requirements while minimising transport service disruptions and ensuring efficiency.
One remarkable project with SATS highlighted the necessity of a digital solution to manage complex transportation following an internal manpower reorganisation in response to COVID-19 protocols. SWAT Mobility emerged as the ideal solution and played a vital role in this endeavour. "Their support was crucial in transforming our vision into reality, creating an efficient transportation system despite pandemic challenges," Timothy remarked.
By introducing SWAT Mobility, Timothy efficiently optimised SATS' transport planning. A tailored solution, collaboratively developed and implemented within two weeks, empowered SATS to navigate the pandemic complexities seamlessly. Timothy’s recognition highlights his dedication and SWAT Mobility’s innovative spirit. It's a testament to what's possible when expertise meets innovation. Together, we continue reshaping the future of transport management, overcoming challenges through collaboration and innovation.
A special message from SWAT Mobility: We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the deserving award recipients honoured at the MOT National Awards (COVID-19) Ceremony.
Note: Timothy Chan was an employee of Woodlands Transport Service (2019-2022) when he was involved in the COVID-19 operations, prior to joining SWAT Mobility in 2022.
